Learning & achievement

Lifelong learning raises self-efficacy beliefs and motivation towards reaching the top of the 9-Layered Pyramid of Giftedness as our model considers intelligence and consciousness a dynamic process.

Social & emotional health

Cortisol changes, a hormone released by the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, may be specifically tied to the experience of emotions and cognitions reflecting low self-worth.

Studies on individual genes have shown that extreme stress with temporary high levels of Cortisol affect so-called DNA methylation resulting in changes in the expression and characteristics of genes. To a high extent, the affected individuals also risk suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome, anxiety, depression and cognitive impairment.

Food consumption

The future of food lays on the cooperation among consumers, industries and states. States worldwide should share best practices around their citizens’ diets and consumer habits in order to improve their quality of life. Therefore, knowledge and communication are indispensable qualitative characteristics for infusing trust among consumers, industries and the state. Industries can design and produce new food products with emphasis on human and environmental health. Healthy eating is connected to conscious eating and conscious consumers make prudent choices of what and how much they eat.

 Adult education

Personal fulfillment and development, social inclusion, active citizenship and employment are EU pillars that can be realized through embracing cognitive skills in education and training curricula. 9-layered model of giftedness can serve as a cornerstone in the attempt to reform national and European, formal and informal, educational curricula. The model explains the means to acquire key competences and higher, more complex skills as well as it provides skills assessment opportunities, enabling all interested adults to identify their existing and their upskilling needs.

Inclusive education

There are seven aspects regarding a school’s level of ethos:

1. Teachers as well as students learn in school.

2. Teachers believe that all students in our school can be successful.

3. Teachers regularly discuss ways of improving students’ learning.

4. Standards set for students are consistently upheld across the school.

5. Extra-curricular activities provide valuable opportunities for all students.

6. Teachers share similar beliefs and attitudes about effective teaching and learning.

7. Staff has a commitment to the whole school and not just their class.

Piaget’s Theory as the theoretical background of the 9-Layered Model of Giftedness

Students' beliefs in their efficacy to regulate their own learning and to master academic activities determine their aspirations, level of motivation, and academic accomplishments. Teachers' beliefs in their personal efficacy to motivate and promote learning affect the types of learning environments they create and the level of academic progress their students achieve.

Triarchic Intelligences as the theoretical background of the 9-Layered Model of Giftedness

Sternberg suggested that intelligence is affected by both environmental and/or intrinsic factors, such as lack of motivation, lack of impulse control, lack of perseverance, fear of failure, procrastination, inability to delay gratification, too little or too much self-confidence.
